AIC Welcomes IB students from HK

On the morning of November 24, eleven students from an IB school of Hong Kong, Po Leung Kuk Choi Kai Yau School visited AIC. In the conference room, Bob, the Director of Student Welfare, extended a warm welcome to the guests and wished them a wonderful day at AIC. In order to better host our friends from Hong Kong, some DP1 and DP2 students of AIC were also present and allocated as buddies to their HK peers. The Hong Kong students stayed with their buddies for the rest of the day.

One of the fantastic experiences the HK students shared was attending our weekly Mentor Assembly in the Multi-Purpose Room. The theme of the assembly was “Nomo-Phobia”, an anxiety everybody suffers in today’s information age. An impressive and innovative video starred and directed by the students was displayed to demonstrate how smart phones have changed people’s behavior and interpersonal relationships. The assembly, which ended with a multinational dancing string performed by our international students, made a perfect start for the Hong Kong guests’ wonderful AIC trip.

During the rest of the day, the HK students participated in different classes with their AIC buddies and enjoyed their lunch at the AIC dining area. The DP2 students from the two schools met in the library to discuss the anxieties related to deadlines and exam preparations. Late in the afternoon, a friendly basketball match between the two schools was organized, which turned out to be an unforgettable memory for all students. At the end of the match students enjoyed their ice-creams and took some pictures before saying good bye.
The visit was for only one day, the friendship, we hope, will be everlasting.
